Why We Built This Site
Pickens County residents often need to learn which office holds a court or warrant record before they can ask a useful question. This privately operated reference maps the local starting points and separates city matters from magistrate and General Sessions cases. It does not copy an official warrant database. The Pickens County Sheriff’s contact information and the South Carolina court directory identify public agencies that answer their own records questions.
No public Pickens County active-warrant roster was located in the official sources reviewed, and South Carolina does not provide one statewide public warrant-search page. The state’s traffic ticket locator can help find some citation records, but it is not a warrant list.
What You Will Find Here
The county pages explain how to approach Sheriff-held information, Clerk of Court case files, Summary Court matters, traffic citations, and municipal records. City pages point to each town’s own police and court contacts where those channels are published. The pages also explain when a public case locator can help identify a file and when a direct call to the office named on the paperwork is needed.
Local procedures differ. For example, city ticket payment instructions do not settle every bench-warrant question, and Sheriff-held records do not replace a court’s decision about a case. Information is summarized from public sources and may change, so readers should confirm current status with the office responsible for the record.
What We Cannot Do
This site is not a court, sheriff, police department, attorney, or consumer reporting agency. It cannot confirm whether a warrant is active, serve or recall a warrant, arrange bond, file a motion, or give legal advice. A result in a separate service is not an official court determination, and a blank result does not prove that no record exists.
Public access also has boundaries. South Carolina’s open-records law provides for inspection and copying of certain existing public records, while exemptions and confidentiality rules still apply. It does not make every record searchable online or require an agency to create a new roster.
For official case access, start with the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act and ask the agency that keeps the record about its process. Juvenile court matters have separate confidentiality rules under Title 63, Chapter 19.
Search Partners
Some pages include a search box operated by an outside provider. That provider receives and processes information entered in its tool under its own terms and privacy practices. It is separate from this site and from Pickens County government. Review the provider’s disclosures before entering personal information.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s CATCH service is a paid criminal-history check; SLED states it does not provide wanted-person information. It should not be treated as a public warrant search or a substitute for contacting the court or law-enforcement agency responsible for a record.
